I’ve been seeing a lot of posts and Telegram groups sharing YouTube Premium APKs that claim to unlock ad-free videos, background play, and downloads for free. At first it sounds great, especially if you don’t want to pay for the official subscription. But the more I thought about it, the more questions I had about safety.
The main issue is that YouTube MOD APK is the modified versions of the original app. Since they’re not from the Play Store, there’s really no way to know what changes were made inside the app. Some versions might be clean, but others could include hidden trackers, malware, or scripts that collect data.
Another thing that worries me is logging in with my Google account. Giving account access to an unofficial app feels risky because you don’t know who developed it or how your information is being handled.
On top of that, many people say these APKs stop working after a while whenever YouTube updates something. Then you have to search for another version again.
Personally, the free features are tempting, but I’m starting to think the potential security risks might not be worth it. Curious to hear other opinions.
