I’m trying to design a small storage rack for our garage workshop before I order a batch of drums, but I’m getting conflicting measurements from different suppliers and it’s driving me a bit crazy. One place says their 50L drum is 400mm wide by 600mm tall, another says 380mm by 650mm, and a third just said “standard size” which isn’t helpful at all. I need the exact 50 litre drum size so I can build shelves with the right spacing and make sure I can fit two side by side on a pallet. I’m looking at the open top blue HDPE type if that matters. Does the size vary a lot between manufacturers or is there actually a standard that most follow? Also curious if the lids add extra height or if the measurement usually includes the lid already. I don’t want to build everything and then find out the drums are too tall to slide under the shelf above or too wide to fit next to each other. If someone has one in their warehouse and could grab a tape measure for me I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.
